Paying at Daegu Bakery in Da Nang: Cash, Card and QR Scan
Daegu Bakery accepts cash, card and QR scan. You can pay at the counter in the shop, and if you order through GrabFood you pay in the app. The bakery is at 175 Tô Hiến Thành, Phước Mỹ, Sơn Trà, and is open every day from 07:30 to 20:00.
Three ways to pay in the shop
At the counter you have three options: cash, card or QR scan. That covers most people. If you carry Vietnamese dong, cash is simple. If you would rather not hold much cash, bring a card. If you use a banking app on your phone, scan the QR code at the counter.
You do not need to choose in advance. Decide when you reach the till. The staff will take whichever method you prefer.
Cash
Cash in Vietnamese dong is the most direct way to pay. It works for a single loaf, a sandwich or a box of cookies. It also works for a birthday cake.
Small notes help. Many purchases here are small, so having some 20,000 and 50,000 dong notes ready keeps the line moving. If you only have a large note, that is usually fine, but it is easier for everyone if you can pay closer to the exact amount.
Card
Card payment is accepted. This is useful if you are visiting Da Nang and do not want to withdraw dong for every small stop. You can pay for bread, sandwiches, salad, cookies or a cake by card at the counter.
If your card is issued outside Vietnam, it is worth having a second payment option ready. Not every foreign card works in every terminal. That is true across the city, not just here. Cash or QR scan can cover you if a card does not go through.
QR scan
QR scan is the third option. Open your banking or payment app, scan the code at the counter, and confirm the amount. This is common in Da Nang and many customers use it daily.
QR payment suits small buys. It is quick, and you do not need to carry cash or a card. If you already use a Vietnamese banking app, this will feel familiar.
Paying for a birthday cake
Birthday cakes need at least one day of notice. Sizes are 16 cm, 18 cm and 20 cm. Because you order ahead, you can sort out payment when you place the order or when you collect the cake. Ask at the counter which is easier for your date.
Ordering ahead also means you are not choosing from what happens to be left in the case. You tell the shop what you need, and they prepare it for your pickup day.
Paying for delivery
Delivery is through GrabFood only. You pay in the GrabFood app when you place the order, so there is no cash or card handling at your door. The bakery's own payment options apply when you come to the shop.
The last GrabFood order is at 20:15. The shop itself closes at 20:00.
