Bread for Hotpot and Dipping in Da Nang: What to Buy at Daegu Bakery
Daegu Bakery at 175 Tô Hiến Thành in Sơn Trà sells fresh bread that works well for hotpot and dipping. Come in the morning for the best choice, or order through GrabFood if you are staying nearby.
Why Bread Works with Hotpot
Hotpot is about dipping, and bread is one of the easiest things to dip. A plain loaf or a small roll soaks up broth, sauce or a bowl of seasoned oil. You do not need anything fancy. You need bread that holds together when it is wet and tastes good on its own.
At Daegu Bakery we bake bread every day. The shop opens at 07:30 and the baking work starts at 04:30, so the first bread of the day is ready when the doors open. If you are planning a hotpot dinner at home, buy in the morning or early afternoon and keep the bread in a paper bag. It will still be good by dinner.
What to Buy for Dipping
For hotpot and dipping, keep it simple. These are the items we sell that fit best:
- Plain bread loaves and rolls. Good for tearing and dipping into broth.
- Sandwiches. If you want something ready to eat before or after the hotpot.
- Salad. A light side to balance a heavy meal.
- Cookies. Something sweet to finish.
We also sell cakes and birthday cakes, but those are not for dipping. Birthday cakes need at least one day of notice and come in 16 cm, 18 cm and 20 cm sizes.

Timing Your Visit
Morning is the best time for the widest choice. Midday is still good, and the afternoon works if you are not picky. If you come close to 20:00, some items may be gone. For a hotpot dinner, aim for morning or midday so you have time to get home and set up.
Keeping Bread Fresh for Later
Bread for dipping does not need special treatment. Keep it in a paper bag or a bread box. If you buy in the morning and eat at dinner, it will be fine. If you want it warm, a short time in a toaster or a dry pan brings it back. Do not soak it in water. Just dip and eat.
If you are staying in Sơn Trà or near Mỹ Khê beach, we are a short ride away. Come by, or order on GrabFood before 20:15.
